In Anticipation of MAD MEN's Return

(From I LOVE CHARTS!)

You probably can't read this but it was used at a panel I attended on the TV shows MAD MEN and BREAKING BAD. I found the paper on BREAKING BAD to be more interesting although it was probably more simple. The papers on MAD MEN tended to used data to prove certain issues whereas with BB they just talked about how Walt had destroyed the very thing he set out to save--his family.

Any predictions about the finale in July?

I predict bad things will have to happen on MAD MEN. After all his entire life is based on a lie. This has to come back and bite him. It already haunts him but I don't see how the show can have a happy ending at all.

By the way, I have friends who doubt the drinking in the office scenes by everyone. I actually worked in an office in the late 1960's and early 1970's where drinking in the office was quite common.

MAD MEN has to end with Don getting caught in his lies. And BREAKING BAD with Walt brought to his knees.
And people doubt the smoking too. In an office where I worked in 1968 only one or two in an office of 60 or so people didn't smoke. How in the world did they stand it? And drinking was an end of the day thing although on MAD MEN a drink often seems to start their day.

While we have never jumped into Breaking Bad, we are definitely looking forward to Sunday and the return of River Monsters! Oh, and Mad Men. A dilemma for us VCRers. ;-)

Anyway, part of me thinks that Don will get caught in his web of lies, but I can't help the thought that he'll find a way through it, with the help of someone else. I'm going to have to read a recap of last season because I can't remember how it ended.

The very last scene was Don eyeing a woman in a bar. My husband likes that River Monsters too. I don't get it at all.

For BREAKING BAD, my money is on #6 of this list. I don't watch MAD MEN, but that is a fun chart.

I just hope MAD MEN doesn't end like THE SOPRANOS did.

@ George: I don't know if it'll change your mind, but does this help?

Wow, if it's THIS complicated, I'll probably never watch it. Too bad, because I'd hoped to pick it all up on Netflix or DVD and work my way through it season by season. Seems if a person doesn't get in at the evry beginning there's no chance.

I think you could read a synopsis and catch up quickly. It is nowhere near as difficult as JUSTIFIED of GAME OF THRONES to catch up with.

Not that I've followed MAD MEN, but really?... There's an ALICE COOPER in it?... Oh, and I bet the entire series has all been something happening in the mind of a very senile Don Draper in 2013. Hence the anachronisms.

Wow, talk about the wrong link! Not that there is anything wrong about Lee Perry but this is what I had in mind:
