Here's a weird fact: Janis Joplin died on my 13th birthday (October 4, 1970) and four years later Anne Sexton died on my 17th birthday (October 4, 1974). It's odd the things you remember when you're in your adolescence.

And those years are odd anyway. Full of portents.

Love Anne Sexton. Been hoping for some kind of brilliant biopic one day, along with 'The Gospel According to Janis' and something more for Diane Arbus and Sue Kaufman. I wonder if 'Diary of a Mad Housewife' is availble digitally yet? I actually started a short biopic about Sexton, but quickly came to realize that this would be more suitably created by a woman or team of people. All so compelling . . . Plus, Linda Gray Sexton would have to be part of any such project. HBO?

Yes, Searching for Mercy Street was a great account of her mother. Also read a straight bio that was very good.
